Stop Motion Animation Projects with Jeanne Feeney

This project can be adapted to any subject or grade level. Apps needed on your iphone are Lego Movie Maker and Google Drive which are free. The Lego app has no voiceover so you need to download the iMovie app ($4.99) to edit your movie footage and add voiceovers. In a classroom setting the stop motion filming could be done with student devices and then uploaded to their Google Drive. Then the students could download the footage from their drive and import it into iMovie on an iPad or Apple computer for editing and voiceovers.
Step 1: Download the apps to your phone.

Step 2: Working in small groups of 2-3, plan out your short video. For today's topics choose either an anti-bullying movie or digital citizenship. Due to our limited time for production, plan on making a short movie like a public service announcement. Use any of the props/toys that I brought!

Step 3: Watch the Lego Movie Maker/Super Hero Intro:

Step 4: Film your movie!
Step 5: Upload to Google Drive if needed to edit on another device such as a laptop with iMovie or an iPad. Otherwise you will use iMovie on your phone!

Step 6: Edit your movie in iMovie and add a voiceover! In a classroom setting, students can write the script for the voiceover by collaborating on a Google Doc.
Here's an iMovie Tutorial for iPhones:

Step 7: Done? I will upload to my YouTube channel to insert your completed project here! See the right side of this page.
